Kilpatrick's raid (off the map)
What happened
Kilpatrick's 3rd Cavalry Division left Sandtown on the evening of Aug 18, occupied Jonesborough about 5 p.m. on the 19th and reached the railroad above Lovejoy's Station at 11 a.m. on the 20th. Kilpatrick claimed about four miles of the Macon railroad destroyed between Jonesborough and Bear Creek Station, with one train burned and another damaged, but the track was soon repaired. The point shown is Jonesboro.
