Army of the Tennessee camps at East Point

After Jonesboro, Sherman placed the Army of the Tennessee 'about East Point', guarding the rail junction southwest of Atlanta.

The record

Sherman's report puts the Army of the Cumberland around Atlanta, the Army of the Tennessee about East Point and the Army of the Ohio at Decatur. The XV, XVI and XVII Corps camped around the junction of the Macon and West Point railroads.
