The record

The 3rd Cavalry Division left Sandtown on the evening of Aug 18 and tore up track near Jonesborough. It fought at Lovejoy's Station on the 20th, swam Cotton Indian Creek and crossed South River on the morning of the 21st. Kilpatrick brought in one gun, three flags and about 50 prisoners and reported a loss of no more than 300. The railroad was repaired quickly.
