XX Corps camp on the Pace's Ferry road
Hooker's XX Corps camped on July 18 between the IV Corps at Buckhead and the XIV Corps at Howell Mill Rd.
The record
Williams's and Geary's divisions camped here while Ward's division moved east to Buckhead. On July 19 Geary marched southwest on today's Arden Rd to cross Peachtree Creek. Finding the XIV Corps at Howell's Mill, he crossed upstream at today's Northside Dr, and Williams followed the next day to the Peachtree Creek battlefield. Much of this area is private residential land.
