Sweetwater Creek (just west of the map)
Sweetwater Creek enters the Chattahoochee from the west, opposite south Fulton, just beyond this map. Kenneth Krakow's Georgia Place-Names, as cited by Wikipedia, says it was named for a Cherokee leader, AmaKanasta ('Sweet Water').
The record
The creek rises in Paulding County and flows through Cobb and Douglas counties to the Chattahoochee; Sweetwater Creek State Park lies near its mouth. The attribution to AmaKanasta comes from Krakow (1975) as cited by Wikipedia; this research could not consult the book directly. USGS GNIS places its mouth opposite south Fulton County, about 4 km beyond the western edge of this map.
Today: Sweetwater Creek State Park, Douglas County.
