The record

Herndon Homes and Eagan Homes both opened in 1941, and Wikipedia's Vine City history says the Black population of the area grew as a result. Atlanta Housing lists Herndon among the four Black projects of its early-1940s program. It had 520 units and was demolished in 2010 (Wikipedia).

Today: The site is being redeveloped as Herndon Square.
