The record

Krakow's Georgia Place-Names says only that it 'flows in a southerly direction to enter the South River at the town of Constitution'; no source found explains the name. Its headwaters under downtown, Summerhill and Peoplestown are part of the combined sewer served by the Custer Avenue facility and the East Area tunnel, and a city treatment plant stood on it at Key Road from 1910 to 2024. Downstream, DeKalb's 136-acre Intrenchment Creek Park and the former Atlanta Prison Farm flank the creek in the South River Forest. The USGS gauge at Constitution Road recorded its peak, 4,100 cfs, on March 25, 1964.

Today: Open creek south of I-20; piped upstream.
