Morgan's errant column; Garrard at Flat Rock

What happened

Sherman sent Davis's XIV Corps division under J.D. Morgan on a wide march to come in on Logan's right by the Lick Skillet road, but without maps or guides it lost its way in woods and swamps and was recalled. Southeast of Decatur, Garrard's division held Flat Rock for Stoneman and stayed until the 29th, skirmishing heavily with part of Wheeler's cavalry.
