The record

The firm occupied 8 Whitehall St, between Alabama and Hunter streets beside the Macon & Western Railroad, with an auction room in front and a slave pen behind. Barnard's photograph was taken after the Federal capture and before the burning. Whitehall St is today's Peachtree St SW, and the site is on the Underground Atlanta plaza opposite the Five Points station.
