Jones Mill / Walker's Mill (Clear Creek)

A mid-19th-century grist mill on Clear Creek just downstream of today's BeltLine crossing at the north end of Piedmont Park. Civil War maps label it Jones Mill; it is often called Walker's Mill after a later owner.

The record

Wikipedia's Clear Creek article gives the location and both names. Clear Creek runs in an open channel here, north of the reach that emerges in Piedmont Park, on its way to Peachtree Creek.

Today: Clear Creek below the BeltLine at the north end of Piedmont Park.

Look for: Stone or race traces along the creek below the BeltLine crossing.
