Benton's and Coltart's brigades break Harrow's line
Brown's Mississippi and Alabama brigades struck Harrow's XV Corps division south of the railroad and drove out Williams's and Oliver's brigades.
The record
This attack went in at the same time as Manigault's break at the railroad cut to the north. Together they displaced four Federal brigades on a half-mile front before reinforced counterattacks restored the line. Col. Samuel Benton was wounded here and died later in a hospital at Griffin.
