The record

Cleburne's brigades were Lowrey's, Govan's and Smith's Texans (Granbury's). Govan's Arkansans reported taking a battery of six Napoleons in position and two guns on the road, and most of the 16th Iowa was captured. McPherson was killed by skirmishers of the Texas brigade during this rear attack. The area is private residential East Atlanta.
